Statement of Originality
My Background
My name is Aurora Quintero, and I was raised in Reading, Pennsylvania. Over the past few years, I loved fitness, especially lifting. While I’m not at the gym, I’m reading romance novels or hanging out with friends. I love going to K-pop concerts and collecting photo cards from my favorite K-pop groups like Ateez and Stray Kids. I have a chihuahua/dog daughter named Lily, so she gets a lot of my free time. I am a big foodie so I’m always down to eat at a new restaurant in Philly with my partner!
About Me
I’m currently a senior at Temple University pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Event and Entertainment Management with a concentration in Live Entertainment. I received my Associate of Arts in Business Administration at Reading Area Community College in May of 2022. During my time at Temple, I joined the Event Planning Association (EPA) and went to general body meetings to meet industry professionals. I was inducted into Eta Sigma Delta, which is the international honor society for hospitality management in December 2023. I received my OSHA 10 in a theater safety course and learned the high risks in our industry.
My Career Goals
After I graduate with my Bachelor's degree, I will aim to work within the live music industry, specifically as a tour manager. As a tour manager, I want to experience the organizational and administrative aspects of that career. I want to step into a leadership role by coordinating all details in the travel, load-in/load-out, budgets, hospitality needs, etc. I’m open to other career paths within the live music industry such as venue manager or event coordinator. With how many opportunities there are within this industry, I will keep my options open.
